To prepare yourself for the role of non executive director Manchester Metropolitan University Business School (MMUBS) Commercial Academy provides two non exectuive director training courses to suit your needs.

We've created an introductory development day for potential and current non executive directors, which company owners and directors should also attend. We've also created a more in-depth 10 week programme where you'll cover the whole range of responsibilities of the Non-Executive Director so that you can take on the job with confidence and demonstrate to future Board colleagues that you have the capability to act in the role you have taken on.

Non Executive Director Training School for new and Existing Non-Executive Directors

What's involved?
A 10-week evening school with 5 different leading professionals and experts in the 5 key areas of understanding required for an effective non-executive director. Each week we will introduce you to an indepth analysis and investigation of the issues involved in a specific area of importance.

You'll learn in detail about:

  • Your legal responsibilities as a non-exec
  • How organisations are governed in the corporate sphere
  • How to conduct yourself in the business development process
  • How to deal with the significant financial analysis that's required
  • How to deal with success
  • How you 'manage' a board of executives
Each week you'll uncover new knowledge and develop skills using a blend of seminars, case studies, practical exercises and discussions.
